The Challenge

Mylan is one of the largest generics and specialty pharmaceutical companies in the world, manufacturing and marketing approximately 1,400 different medicines to retail, wholesale, government and institutional customers. Due to the nature of their industry, they operate in a market where competitor products are nearly identical, pricing is regulated, marketing is restricted, and buying power is in the hands of retailers, not the end consumer.

The Approach

In order to differentiate Mylan and gain an advantage in an extremely competitive industry, we launch a series of proprietary programs to increase brand awareness through innovative patient tools and supportive resources.

Results

Mylan Health Network
My Health Network is an innovative new program developed to increases brand awareness among healthcare professionals and product end-users. Digital signage provides patients with Mylan-branded health tips and information in over 500 medical centres and pharmacies across Canada, ensuring we’re reaching the right people, in the right place, at the right time, while supporting Mylan’s goal of providing access to high quality medicine.

Mylan Health Coach

Mylan Health Coach is a free, in-pharmacy program developed to improve patient health, encourage brand loyalty, and increase sales. One-on-one counselling session with a Registered Dietitian are supported through collateral material, patient resources, a website and online portal. Members can, among other things, book appointments, access resources and track their progress on their way to a healthier lifestyle. Because the program targeted an older demographic, accessibility, navigation and functionality, were highly prioritized.

Med Mentor App

Med Mentor is a smartphone app that helps patients stick to their medication routine, leading to improved health. Based on the information users enter into the app, they receive reminders telling them when to take their medication. The app also facilitates refills with participating pharmacies, provides supportive health information and rewards patients for proper medication adherence. Med Mentor helps differentiate Mylan from its competition, increases brand awareness with consumers and health care providers, and drives incremental sales through adherence and pharmacy partnerships.
