The Challenge

The Advanced Energy Centre (AEC) is a partnership between MaRS Discovery District, the Ontario Ministry of Energy and the private sector. Its mission is to foster the adoption of innovative energy technologies in Canada, and leverage those successes and experiences in international markets. AEC approached us to help them develop a website designed to encourage sales of Canadian energy technology both domestically and abroad. It had to allow users to easily access information, facilitate relationships between businesses, government, buyers and suppliers, and support entrepreneurs who are driving the future of energy markets.




The Approach

The new responsive website profiles innovative Canadian energy technologies and projects and connects them to a global audience. Users are able to navigate via an interactive infographic or category search. The category search uses contextual filters to match user needs with a solution based on their technological needs and geographical situation. Innovators, funders, buyers, regulators and government agencies are able to engage, share experiences and learn from one another through this interactive platform.
